Donating is
a matter of trust

Frugality, transparency, as well as a conscious and careful handling of donations are all matters close to our hearts and a matter of course for us. That is why we turn over every donated euro not just once, but several times, so that it has the greatest possible effect on our project work.

Thanks to our loyal donors, we were able to finance 3.091 vehicle units worth around 4.5 million euros in 54 countries in 238 projects last year. The administrative costs amounted to only 3,84 per cent and only 3.74 per cent was spent on processing and managing donations. As a particularly economical organisation, this puts us in the upper echelons of national and international comparisons.

Detailed information on our finances and our projects from 2023, can be found in our  MIVA Short Review (only in german) our MIVA Annual Review (only in german). More detailed information can be found in the MIVA Annual Report (only in german), which is available annually in June in the current version for the past year.

Donating is a matter of trust. What we promise we deliver: high efficiency and transparency, as well as low ancillary costs.
Your donation counts!

Trust & Transparency

MIVA Austria has been awarded the Austrian Donation Quality Seal. This is an instrument of voluntary self-regulation on the sustainable and responsible handling of donations. The control and allocation is carried out annually in a strict auditing process by an independent accountant and auditor and ensures that donations are used 100 per cent for the intended purpose.

Since the trust of our donors is our highest asset and our daily motivation, we are happy to undergo this annual audit.

More about the Austrian Donation Quality Seal

1. Project funds
Project funds are those funds received by project partners of MIVA Austria as well as those costs incurred during transfer / transport. In many cases, the approved amount is transferred to the project partners. If significant savings can be achieved compared to a purchase in the country of use, delivery is made from Austria. For this purpose, the vehicles are purchased by the "Procurement Company of MIVA" (BBM) and transported to the country of operation.

2. Project preparation and implementation
This area includes all costs that make the direct services to the project partners possible in the first place: Project identification, evaluation, selection, review and implementation. For example: Staff in the project department, travel to target countries, coordination with other relief organisations.

3. Campaigns, education and information work
Here, those costs are recorded that relate to campaigns, education and information work in Austria. For example: Personnel for educational work, production of educational materials and documents, educational events.

4. Administrative expenses
Administrative expenses include the administrative expenses necessary for the smooth and orderly operation of MIVA Austria.
