MIVA is a relief organisation of the Catholic Church. MIVA supports churchly projects which serve the pastoral care. In the huge parishes in developing countries the villages are often far apart and so functional vehicles are indispensable for being able to serve the believers in all villages.
For example Bangladesh. Priest Bablu Cornelius Corraya from the diocese Rajshahi serves four thousand Catholics in his parish Mundumala – above all members of marginal ethnic groups – in 66 villages. “A lot of villages are far away from the parish centre”, writes priest Corraya in a letter to MIVA. “To be able to serve the people better I need a motorcycle.” He will receive it.
